      GameNight at John Marshall Elementary
            John Marshall Elementary School's PTO will hold a Gamewright GameNight on Nov. 12 at 15 Cornell St., Edison.       Men's b-ball program applications due Dec. 4
            The Edison Recreation Department has begun accepting team applications for the 2010 Men's Basketball Program. All applications must be returned by Dec. 4. All teams made up of New Jersey residents and businesses are invited to apply, and league play will begin in early January.

      Edison Elks annual Hoop Shoot Nov. 14
            The Edison Elks will be holding its annual Hoop Shoot 9 a.m.-noon Nov. 14 at the Stelton Recreation Center located on Plainfield Road. The Hoop Shoot is for boys and girls ages 8-13. Bring a copy of child's birth certificate or passport to verify child's age. Children will be shooting 25 baskets for the competition. The winners will be entered into the District Hoop Shoot.

      Thanksgiving Day trip to New York City
            The Edison Recreation Department is offering a bus trip to New York City on Thanksgiving, Nov. 26. The bus will leave Edison at 5:45 a.m. to view the parade at 9 a.m. The bus will depart from New York City at approximately 11:30 a.m. at the conclusion of the parade and should arrive back in Edison at approximately 1:30 p.m.

            There will be a memorial blood drive at the Edison Elks Lodge 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 14 at the lodge located at 375 Old Post Road, next to the ShopRite Plaza. The blood drive is in memory of Sharon Marshall who passed away five years ago from a blood disorder.

      Nov. 14 concert to benefit Metuchen EMS
            Children's publisher, artist and musician, Danny Adlerman, of Metuchen, will host a concert 7 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Old Franklin School House, 491 Middlesex Ave., Metuchen. Two other children's musicians will join him. Tickets are $5 for individuals and $12 for families. All proceeds raised at the concert will go towards the Metuchen Emergency Medical Services.
